Intimations on Sunday 26 November 2023

Advent Food Bank Appeal 2003. Donations for this can be handed in right up to Tuesday, 19th December to allow for packaging and distribution. Last Christmas, the Food Bank was overwhelmed with chocolates, toys, books and even clothes. Please donate only food that has a long sell by date. There is a list of suggested items on the wall at the back of the church. Thank you.

Offering Plates.  Elders will continue with the practice of taking the offering plates around the congregation.

Carols by Candlelight.  Please note that this Service will be held on Wednesday, 20th December at 6.30pm. All are welcome.

We hope to have pupils from the primary school in attendance at the Church and the Centre on Monday 4thand Tuesday 5th of next week. They will be making lanterns, which we hope they will bring to the Carols by Candlelight Service.

The Tree of Heaven has once again been organised to remember loved ones at Christmas who are no longer with us. Leaflets and stars will be distributed throughout the town, but they can also be picked up from Bryan Gowans, McCowan and Son, Dalbeattie Bookshop or the Church. If you are willing to distribute leaflets to a street in the town, please get in touch with Margaret Copp.

Donations can be handed in to any of the named shops or put in the at the back of the church, next to the display of stars.  This year’s recipients are: Dalbeattie Scout Movement, Dalbeattie Beavers and Musical Minds.

Stamps. Christmas is coming and hopefully you will all receive lots of cards, especially through the post. Please keep the stamps (with a piece of envelope around them) and bring them to church. There is a collection box at the back. Ask your friends and family to do the same. If not at church, please bring them to Initiative Shop for Sheena. We are collecting them for Age Concern

Teas and Coffee will be available for all in the Church Centre after the service this morning. All donations will be for the ongoing work of the Church.

Churches Together is hosting a "Welcome to Advent" service in Colvend Parish Church today (3rd) at 3.30 for 4pm.

Tea/coffee and eats will be available in Colvend Church prior to the service from 3.30pm onwards. All are very welcome to come together and give a joyful start to the period of Advent.

Communion.  There will be a short act of communion immediately after the service this morning. If you would like to participate then please move to the front of the Church at the end of the Service.
