Update re services

Based on Scottish Government guidance, places of worship can reopen in Scotland from 15 July, but with strict restrictions and increased safety measures in place.  As it stands, physical distancing is still required and singing is not permitted.  The Scottish Government has put a cap of 50 people being allowed in a building. Meetings are taking place to discuss the implications of reopening our church for restricted worship. Before opening the church the Kirk Session has to agree to the new policies, procedures and safety measures that need to be put in place to make sure that Dalbeattie & Kirkgunzeon Church is a safe place to hold the new style of services.

Although regular services are not taking place in these unusual times the costs of maintaining the ministry and the church buildings remain.  For those of you who normally give an  Offering  on a Sunday please consider how you can continue to make your gifts regularly. Stepping Stones Food Bank

Stepping Stones Food Bank, 24 High Street, Dalbeattie Harvest Appeal The current Covid restrictions mean that this year it is not possible to hold the Harvest Service in the church or the Harvest Assembly at the school. Instead the church would like to join forces with the school in appealing for food bank items to be delivered to the above food bank. These are difficult times for a number of people who are struggling to access or afford food and household essentials. Cont/..

Christian Aid 2020

Due to the current restrictions on our lives during the Coronavirus pandemic there have been no fundraising events for Christian Aid in 2020. I am not intending to issue the Christmas Appeal jam jars this year. I would ask those of you who already have money collected in the Small Change boxes to please either keep until they can be collected next year, alternatively you can donate directly to Christian Aid.
