The Fundraising Group is planning another Silent Auction and Social Evening. We are looking for good quality items for the Auction, such as ornaments, jewellery, unused toiletries, small kitchen appliances in working order and any other items of saleable quality. Please bring any such items on any Sunday from now on. Items can be collected by phoning Morag ( tel :610390) Tickets will be available from the end of January.

Dalbeattie & Kirkgunzeon Church are holding a Coffee Morning in Dalbeattie Town Hall on Saturday 21 July from 10.00 am till 11.30 am. Admission £2. Donations of raffle prizes, bottles for Tombola, good quality books, items for the Home Baking table and traybakes, scones and pancakes for serving will all be gratefully received. Please bring to Townhall on Friday 20 th between 6-7.30 pm or from 8.30am on Saturday 21 st ; or contact Morag on 610390 to arrange to collect.

The September issue of “Life and Work” is available for subscribers at the rear of the church.
This is Presbytery Sunday and we have the Rev. Donald Campbell from St George's Church in Dumfries. Unfortunately Fiona is not able to be in Dumfries, due to illness. We extend a very warm welcome to our guest.
There is a Presbytery Songs of Praise tonight (Sunday 16th) in Thornhill Parish Church at 6.30 pm led by Rev. Stuart Mill, Moderator. Refreshments after the service will be served in Thornhill Village Hall.
Churches Together are holding a joint service this evening (16th Sept) at 7 pm in Christ Church. All are welcome and the service will be followed by tea/coffeee and "eats". Details are on the notice board at the back of the church and also on the notice board outside.
Please note that the meeting of the Kirk Session, scheduled for Tuesday, 18thSeptember in the Church Hall has been cancelled.
The Singing Group, "Taste of Country" will be staging a Charity Concert in St George's Church Hall, Dumfries on Friday, 28th September, 2018 at 7.30 pm. Tickets are priced £5. Posters are at the rear of the Church.
You are invited to attend the first annual concert of the King Grange Singers. This will be held on Saturday, 29th September 2018 at 7.00 pm in Castle Douglas Parish Church. Tickets are priced at £10 and include refreshments. Fliers and order forms are available at the back of the Church.
This year our Harvest Service is in two parts. Firstly we will again collect items for the local Dumfriesshire Food Bank. The children at the Primary School also wish to contribute again. Please bring along to the church items for the Food Bank any time up to 30thSeptember. Secondly window and table decorations can be uplifted after the Harvest Service in exchange for a donation towards Christian Aid to help those in other countries. The format will be simpler this year. Only trays of fruit and small posies of flowers or potted plants will be used on the windows. Please hand in contributions for these on Saturday, 29thSeptember between 9:30 and 11:00 am. Thank you.
The Fundraising Group is organising an Autumn Concert on Saturday, November 3rd. In the Church Centre at 7pm. This will be a light-hearted programme featuring Music For All, a traditional Scottish music group and Hilary Irving accompanied by Douglas, as well as other performers. Tickets will be priced at £5, which includes interval refreshments and will be on sale during October from any member of the Fundraising Group.
